2014 Beginning Teacher STEM Conference: GSU

INTC will present a two-day conference for new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) teachers.

What: A two-day conference with speakers, STEM content breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and more.
When: July 29 and 30, 2014

Who:
  • EC-12 STEM teachers with one to four years of full time classroom experience including:
    • Secondary teachers of math, science, technology, and engineering
    • Elementary teachers who teach any STEM content
  • Mentors are also welcome
Why:

    • Attend sessions led by master teachers and STEM university faculty, all of whom are experts in their field
    • Top rated breakout sessions from 2013 plus a range of new sessions
    • Gain valuable teaching tools and ideas to use in their classroom next year
    • Reflect on and share the past year’s teaching experience
    • Network with other new teachers from around the state

Cost: There is no conference fee, and attendees will also be provided with a hotel room (if needed), two lunches, a breakfast, and a catered evening reception. Attendees are responsible for the cost of their own transportation and any additional personal expenses incurred. Participants are encouraged to share a room (2 queen beds) with a colleague. This conference is made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Teacher Quality Partnership Grant of Governors State University, the College of Engineering at Illinois, the State Farm Companies Foundation, and the College of Education at Illinois.

Need to Cancel?
To cancel your registration, email intc@illinois.edu. You must also cancel your hotel room at the I Hotel and Conference Center by July 28 at 4 PM or you will be charged the full amount for your stay. To cancel your hotel, call the I Hotel and Conference Center at 217-819-5000
