Materials or Resources:
Sentence strips, surgical masks, rubber gloves, and band-aids.
Preparation:
Separate materials for each group. Write two words that can be made into contractions (ex. do not) on each sentence strip; leave a space between words.
Activity Length:
35minutes
Activity or Strategy Description:
Have the students cut apart the sentence strips and words to properly create contractions. Use the band-aids to help hold the newly formed word together. They will probably need tape to help also. Have them use a marker to put in an apostrophe.
